Daviisville is the best kept secret in midtown Toronto, but we fear that word is getting out! Once a farm north of the city, you can still feel that village vibe while sipping a latte at the old general store (now Starbucks) at the corner of Davisville and Yonge. Take that latte with you and go browse the seasonal Farmers Market at June Rowlands Park or head up Mount Pleasant and browse the antique shops. If it’s nature you crave, stroll in the peaceful environs of Mount Pleasant Cemetery, resting place of many prestigious Torontonians.
There are many unlikely hidden treasures in Davisville Village that only an insider would know. The Flaming Stove, located in a convenience store, is a gem of a restaurant that offers daily specials ranging from pad thai to jerk chicken stew, and provides catering too. Bread and Butter, a family owned business on Mount Pleasant offers some of the best weiner schnitzel outside of Germany. Some may not know too that there is a fabulous new community centre coming to the area, and a freshly rebuilt neighbourhood school. Davisville village offers so much more which can only be discovered by wandering down the lovely neighbourhood boulevards.
You can really put your roots down in this quickly growing community, raise a family, start a business, and be a part of a village within our great city. That is the luxury of living in Davisville Village.
