There is a new proposal tabled by the Toronto Parking Authority to increase street parking prices, particularly in certain areas.  The proposal is to increase the hourly rate from $3.00 to $4.00 in some neighbourhoods that have high parking demand and higher flows of traffic.  Where street parking currently costs $2.25 an hour, it is proposed to raise these rates to $3.00 an hour.  These changes are hoped to bring in an additional $1.5 million in city revenues.

So if you are luck enough to find a spot on the street, be aware you will likely be paying more for it in the future!
