Campaign Promise of Foreign Investment in Canada's Real Estate Market | Discover the Best in Toronto Real Estate

Stephen Harper has made a campaign promise to collect data on foreign investment in Canada's real estate market.  If re-elected, the Conservative government intends to spend $500,000 collecting this data in order to inform future policies about foreign ownership.  This has been an issue debated among real estate professionals and all levels of government, particularly regarding Vancouver's market.  Some believe restrictions are necessary, while others believe that restrictions may be damaging to some regions.
