Lytton Park Neighbourhood

One of North Toronto’s most exclusive neighbourhoods, Lytton Park exudes quiet charm from its classic Toronto homes to its mature tree-lined avenues. Home to doctors, lawyers, executives, and upper income families, the area’s distinguished history includes a castle (called ‘Glen Castle’) as well as a horseracing track (originally at Glengrove Avenue West and Yonge Street).

With the establishment of a railway along Yonge Street, connecting North Toronto to the downtown core, Lytton Park’s residential development took off in early 1900’s as families flocked to the area. John Ross Robertson School was built in 1921 to serve the neighbourhood’s school children, subsequently cementing Lytton Park’s prestige until this very day.

Lytton Park Homes

The large, beautiful properties of Lytton Park span several generations of construction resulting in a charming mix of Georgian, Colonial, American Foursquare, Victorian, and Tudor style homes. Large lots (40-50 ft wide) are the norm, with many homes set back from the street, offering deep front and back yards.

Almost all Lytton Park homes are detached, single-family dwellings with private driveways and garages. Due to the character of Lytton Park’s older homes, most renovations are focused on updating the interiors while maintaining the original exteriors and overall layouts. However, new and custom construction has taken place more frequently in the past several years.
